News at Marlena: Ayurveda Yoga

Ayurveda and Yoga, a perfect match. Both date from the same Veda: the science of life. The two practices aspire to a long and above all happy life from the physical, energetic and emotional point of view. These common elements, when combined, allow you to have a unique and introspective experience aimed at the deep knowledge of your inner being.
At Marlena you will learn about this concept of holistic well-being by participating in Ayurveda Yoga lessons with Paola Girolametto, expert yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance UK) specialized in Ayurveda Yoga Therapy and with two years of training at the Ayurveda Study Centre, and practice Dr. Rajesh Shrivastava's Yoga.

Each yoga session consists of three moments: Pranayama (breathing), Asanas (positions) and meditation. Participation is free.

Pranayama (breathing)

The term "Pranayama" is composed of Prana (life force) and Ayama (control) and can be explained as "conscious extension and regulation of the breath". Breath control yoga techniques help dissolve energy blockages in the body and spirit, relax the nervous system and prevent stress, problems with insomnia, high blood pressure ... In addition, deep breaths help you reach inner peace.

Asanas (positions)

"Asana" is the Sanskrit term for position or posture and means "a comfortable position to be assumed for a long period of time". Many asanas derive from natural movements or postures of animals and are therefore indicated by their name. This practice has a positive effect on muscles, joints, breathing, the heart, circulatory, nervous and lymphatic systems as well as on mind, psyche and chakra and promotes inner peace and serenity.

Meditation

The practice of meditation enhances the ability to concentrate, reduces stress and leads to inner peace. The feeling of deep relaxation expands, self-confidence increases, you feel fit and full of vitality, able to face daily challenges with greater serenity.
